Installation instructions for Cookie Banner on WordPress

Updated over a month ago

Why do I need a cookie banner?

To maintain GDPR compliance your website must display a cookie consent banner which allows the user to accept/decline the use of cookies while browsing your site.

The cookie banner needs to be installed in your website’s header in order for it to appear on all pages. It is recommended that you use our WordPress plugin to install the banner.

You do not need the plugin if you are already loading our banner through other means, such as Google Tag Manager.

Step-by-Step

Requirements:

  1. Before you start, make sure you already have an Enzuzo account

  2. Configure the banner as desired. You can change your settings here at any time.

  3. You will need the UUID or JavaScript snippet from the Add to Site section under Cookie Consent -> Cookie Banner. Do not install directly to website via PHP or HTML (the plugin will do that).

WordPress Plugin:

  1. Go to Enzuzp at Github and download the latest release of the Enzuzo WordPress Plugin

  2. Navigate to the Plugins > Add New tab on the left navigation bar.

    Plugins -> Add New
  3. Click on "Add New Plugin"

  4. Click on "Upload Plugin" and then "Choose File"

  5. Choose the plugin file you downloaded in step 1 (the file will look like enzuzo-cookie-consent-v1.0.0.zip, where v1.0.0 is a version number)

  6. Click "Install Now"

  7. You can now Activate the plugin and change Settings for the plugin

  8. Paste the UUID or code snippet from the Admin Dashboard above as shown below. Click Save.

  9. You can use the Preview tab to preview the banner before enabling for the live site.

Updating Privacy Policy Link Step-by-Step

  1. Enzuzo allows for a custom privacy policy URL on your Cookie Banner. To do so, on the "Configure" tab from the "Cookie Banner" settings, click "Banner Text".

  2. Here in the "Banner Text" settings, you can change different text that appear on your cookie banner, such as banner message, as well as the "Privacy Policy URL". Click "Save" once you've finished editing.

  3. In your store, by hovering over the privacy policy link on your cookie banner, you should be able to see the updated link in the bottom left corner.
