ToS 2.0 What’s new?

Date: December 22, 2022

We're excited to announce that we've updated our Terms of Service. Our previous Terms of Service was designed primarily for Websites and eCommerce merchants; this new version covers Online Market Places, Mobile Apps and Software as a Service businesses (SaaS).

For existing customers not using our Terms of Service

If you are an existing customer and currently not using our Terms of Service, simply accept the new version. You'll be able to read the policy and access our questionnaire which will guide you through an easy setup. Our new Terms of Service includes everything in the original version plus more.

For existing customers using our hosted Terms of Service

If you are an existing customer and you are using our hosted Terms of Service on your website, simply accept the new Terms of Service, and your terms will automatically be updated to the new version. Your previous questionnaire selections will carry over to the new version. Your policy will be set up in the same way, however some of the policy language will have changed. Please note, all our policies are vetted by lawyers, including our updated Terms of Service 2.0.

For existing customers using our copied and pasted Terms of Service

If you are using our Terms of Service and used the Copy and Paste feature to copy the policy language to your website, when you accept the new Terms of Service, the Terms on your website will not change. You will have to generate another policy using the questionnaire, and copy and paste it again to your website.

New Terms of Service 2.0 policy language

We've strengthened a few sections of our Terms of Service to provide even more comprehensive legal language that is to your benefit. For example, we've revamped our content submission standards section for websites that allow user-generated content. Additionally, we've updated our core Terms of Service language to make sure it continues to be up to date with new and changing regulations.

You will also see new questions and new policy sections in the questionnaire, which you can configure through your account. Please note: we are not automatically adding new sections to your existing terms; you will have to go through the questionnaire and add those if they apply to your business.

The new additions to our Terms of Service 2.0 include:

  • New policy language for businesses that operate Mobile Apps, such as iOS, Android and Facebook

  • New policy language for businesses that operate Software as a Service (SaaS) products

  • New policy language for businesses that operate Online Marketplaces

  • New policy language for websites that sell online services

  • Strengthened content submission standards for websites that allow user-generated content

  • New section for content copyright protections

  • New section for arbitration

  • New section for Intellectual Property Rights
