Why do I need a privacy policy?

Having a privacy policy on your website is a legally required document that’s essential for communicating how your business collects and uses your customer data. A privacy policy also helps your business stay compliant with data privacy laws, saving you from potential controversy and expensive fines.


  1. It is best practice to place your privacy policy on it’s own page. Navigate to Settings > Privacy on the left navigation menu. If you do not have a privacy policy page yet, you can click the “Create” button. If you already have a privacy policy page, you can select it and click “Use this Page”.

  2. In your page editor, click on the + icon on the top left.

  3. Search for “html” and click on the “Custom HTML” block and move it to the position on your site you want the privacy policy to show up at.

  4. On the Enzuzo admin dashboard, enable the privacy policy by clicking on the toggle in the top right.

  5. Next, click on “Copy Auto Generated Privacy Policy Snippet” in the popup.

  6. Back on WordPress, paste your copied privacy policy script into the html editor.

  7. You are now done! Go on to your privacy policy page to see your newly installed privacy policy!

  8. Another thing you may want to do is add a link to the privacy policy in your website’s footer. To do this, on WordPress’s main page, on the left navigation bar, navigate to Appearance > Menus.

  9. If you do not have a footer menu already, click on “Create New Menu”.

  10. Fill out the menu name and check the box “Footer Menu” under Menu Locations, then click on “Next”.

  11. Click on “Add Items” and add the privacy policy page. Finally, press “Save Changes” at the top.
