Why do I need a privacy policy?

Having a privacy policy on your website is a legal requirement and is essential for communicating how your business collects and uses your customer data. A privacy policy also helps your business stay compliant with data privacy laws, saving you from potential controversy and expensive fines.


  1. It is best practice to place your privacy policy on its own page. Navigate to Settings > Privacy on the left navigation menu. If you do not have a privacy policy page yet, you can click the “Create” button. If you already have a privacy policy page, you can select it and click “Use this Page”.

  2. In your page editor, click on the + icon on the top left.

  3. Search for “html” and click on the “Custom HTML” block and move it to the position on your site you want the privacy policy to show up at.

  4. Before adding your Enzuzo Privacy Policy to your site, make sure you configure it correctly in the privacy policy settings from the Enzuzo dashboard through the "Configure" page on the top nav.

  5. Once you’ve customized your privacy policy to your liking, click “Add to Website” in the top nav.

  6. On the "Add to Website" page, click the “Copy Code to Clipboard” button to copy the embed code snippet.

  7. Back on WordPress, paste your copied privacy policy script into the html editor.

  8. You are now done! Go on to your privacy policy page to see your newly installed privacy policy!

  9. Another thing you may want to do is add a link to the privacy policy in your website’s footer. To do this, on WordPress’s main page, on the left navigation bar, navigate to Appearance > Menus.

  10. If you do not have a footer menu already, click on “Create New Menu”.

  11. Fill out the menu name and check the box “Footer Menu” under Menu Locations, then click on “Next”.

  12. Click on “Add Items” and add the privacy policy page. Finally, press “Save Changes” at the top.
